Fertility yoga is a therapeutic practice specifically focused on reproductive health. The sequence of postures, breath work and meditation are designed to release deeply held layers of tension, calm the mind and encourage energy flow to the reproductive and hormonal areas of the body, while raising fertility potential.
What are the benefits of Fertility Yoga?
Studies show that fertility yoga reduces the stress related to infertility, enhances personal health and restores a sense of control, all
of which positively contribute to personal fertility rates. By regularly practicing yoga you can:
- tone and strengthen muscles that support your reproductive organs
- increase blood circulation, allowing vital nutrients and oxygen to reach your reproductive system
- increase energy and stamina
- reduce physical stress
- alleviate the emotional stress of timed intercourse and fertility treatments
- improve the total alignment of your body
- create a positive channel for unresolved feelings and overwhelm
Is there research available positively linking yoga with fertility?
Harvard Medical School researcher Alice Domar, Ph.D., published the results of a study in Fertility and Sterility (Vol. 73, No. 4) that
showed women who participated in a mind/body program, which included relaxation and yoga, were almost three times more likely
to get pregnant than women who didn't.+

Sunday January 18th 4:30 - 6:30pm
As we approach the longest night of the year, we remember the many traditions that honour both the dark and the light, especially
as the winter solstice draws near. In many traditions, light and dark are essential components of a whole, such as the Taoist
symbol for Yin & Yang. To many people, spirituality is synonymous with light and transcendence. Expressions such as to be enlightened, to receiveinsight or to see the light reflect the degree to which fire and light are part of our spiritual aspirations. Yet often it is our journey into
the dark that leads us into this light.
Please join us for an evening of reflection and celebration on these two aspects of life, through guided relaxation, pranayama, simple
ritual and meditation.
